From the menu: "Tart farmhouse ale brewed with yeast believed to be related to northern French red wine yeast."
On tap at Brugge Brasserie last weekend. Served in a tulip.
Pours a moderately-dark brown with a thin off-white head that didn't last too long and didn't leave behind much lacing. Thin collar throughout. The nose carried a bit of light acidity, both lactic and a very mild acetic character. A bit of bready malt and very mild sweetness plus a bit of pepper and earth.
The flavor was along the same lines, really making it seem like a blend between a saison and a Flanders Red, maybe 75% of the former if it were a blend. Good feel with light acidity and a slightly dry finish, though the beer itself was a bit chewy. Really nice overall.
