Clear golden hue, pretty much like any other lager of this style. By the time the beer got to me the head already settled, but it was very light in color, pretty much white. Spotty lacing. The aromas are very mild and sweet malt aromas, very bread like. The honey was easily detectable, and added a pleasant aroma. The flavor is very clean and crisp, with the light subtle grains finishing quickly, and a little bit of the honey flavor hanging around. Light bodied.

This is a rather enjoyable Lager, something worth of another go. I found this better than Dundee's original honey lager. Recommended.

I guess this beer recently won the Gold in the Specialty Honey Lager at the GABF. It was originally brewed by Capitol City's Ryan Curley, brewer at the chain's Capitol Hill / Postal Square location. I see from a review that it was apparently also served at Arlington location (the largest).

A very pale, very clear gold / yellow. I would say it has a spruced up macro lager appearance, with a better head. White, displaying okay retention and leaving behind a fairly nice film. pretty good lacing.

A sweetened but nonetheless crisp nose. Honey, of course. Some nuts. Definite hints of some pilsener-y, citrus-y hops.

Taste is very nicely crisp, but again with honey. The honey is slight compliment - and a good one - to a solid lager. Wood and grass. Finished clean, with some grains left on the palate. Slight bittering and drying.

Medium bodied with a low-level carbonation, it has a good feel, but I think it'd be more refreshing if it was either slightly lighter or had a tad more CO2.

Nonetheless, a good and drinkable beer. I liked it, and hope to see it again.

Pours a light golden yellow, with about a half inch head. The head dissipated rather quickly. Certainly could detect a slight amount of honey in it, but the taste left quickly and it almost went down like a strong macrolager. The taste was pretty good, the mouthfeel wasn't too bad. When I go back I probably won't get it again, as Cap City has many other great beers to choose from.
