Sample on tap at What’s Brewing BF, Stavanger. Unusual saison brewed with cloudberries and sweet gale / bog myrtle, which are noticeable in both aroma and flavour. One of the more interesting beers of the festival.

Bottled April 2015.
A resiny saison if that makes sense to you. Bitter berries with traditional spices and finishes with a prolonged bitterness. Certainly a unique ale though not quite up to DDC's standards IMO.

Enjoying, with thanks to Phyl21ca.
A flavourful saison with a nice combination of berries and bitterness. Although the saison yeast is definitely present, it fades in the finish while that bitterness lingers. Pours a warm gold colour with lots of carbonation and a respectable white head. Yeasty aroma more typical of other beers, albeit without massive banana elements. I can't pick out the sweet gale and these cloudberries are a new flavour to me. Really enjoying the bitterness and glad to have tried this beer...

Poured at Degustabiere beer festival.
L: A cloudy blond color. About a finger of head.
S: 'Saisony'. I get some type of floral aroma. A bit of pale fruit and yeasty aromas.
T: Had this weird tannic feel to it which almost made my mouth pucker. I'm completely unaware of what the special ingredients in this beer are supposed to taste like but it was a pleasant saison. Some sort of goose-berry flavour comes through. Clove and spicey phenols in mild quantity.
F: Crisp and refreshing; fairly high carbation but not like drinking soda. Moderately thin body. Very dry with that strange tea-like puckering effect - not in a bad way though.
O: Pretty good. Would drink again. I wish I knew what the special ingredients in the beer taste like individually. Without me knowing it makes it hard to judge the beer. I liked overall as a Saison though.

hazed lightly golden orange, cap of whit head with some lace. Smell is a mix of honey, fruit and berry, not entirely sure what a cloudberry smells like but I certainly get some cranberry ginger ale and some sweet gummy bear. Taste is fruity, wheat and honey, melon, pear, spicy yeast flavours, grassy-yard trimmings, dry in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation, medium body. A nice saison, quite different but also very good, very interesting nose and choice of ingredients that I was largely unfamiliar with.

341ml bottle poured into tulip 2/9/15 some hoser gave me the bottle, cheers!!
A bright golden yellow hazed right over, short lived finger of foam leaves no lace
S floral, perfume, purple candy, herbal tea, lavender, berries but I'd be lying if I said I'd know a cloud berry if I was eating one, honey, lemon, yeast, smells incredible
T weedy, grassy, woody, like chewing on a tree root, doesn't have the massive complex nose, strange how different it tastes, tastes good but a big step backwards compared to the world class scent
M lighter side of medium, stays on the creamy side of foam but just, floral, earthy aftertaste keeps going
O the nose on this is something special, its rare that a beer tastes and smells so different,I gotta jack the score here based on smell alone
Interesting stuff no doubt there, cloud berries and sweet gale? I honestly can't recall ever encountering either of those before and in this day and age I'm impressed coming across even one original ingredient

Pours a hazy golden color with 2-3 fingers of a white, short-lived, bubbly head leaving some lacing as it falls to a thin collar. Soft nose, floral, light fruit, yeast, some dry malt. The taste is of dry malt, floral bittering hops, light fruit (white grapes, granny smith apples) with a semi-dry finish. Nice carbonation keeps the beer light and refreshing. An interesting beer!

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention. Aroma of lightly sweet Belgian malt base with light fruity ester and clear Myrique Baumier notes. Taste is also dominated by lightly sweet malt notes with some Myrique Baumier and herbal notes. Body is somewhat full with an oily like texture and good carbonation. Nothing to write home about but interesting saison nonetheless.
