Should be in the BC arsenal. Really good rye stout that is aged in wine and Heaven Hill bourbon barrels and then mixed. Truly an amazing cousin to Bourbon County.

A: This was not as dark as I expected but had a very nice dark brown color, common with other beers of this style
S: Smells of rich sweet caramel and a tinge of maple/cognac
T: Tastes like it smells, the sweetness of the malt mixes with the cognac and it is nearly perfect
M: A little light for the style but not horrible
O: This is something I wish I could have taken back to Michigan with me, the cognac really sets it apart from others.

On tap at the brewpub. 5oz pour for $6 (ouch). Pours a dark brown with little head, light tan rimming persists, no lacing. Smell is heavy on the alcohol. Cognac aroma. Vinous. Less roasty. Some vanilla and toffee. Taste is like the smell, sweet and heavy wine presence. Cognac whiskey sweetness. Not hot, but alcohol taste is strong, if that makes sense. Feel is slick and sticky, not very thick, but easy to drink. Overall, a great barrel aged beer from goose island. Shocker.
