Tasted at 2019 Prop day. Pours black with beige head. Thick and chewy. Super mellow with the aging. You get just a little rye spice with cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel. Goes down very easy.

On draft at GI. Main difference between this and the base BCBS is the spice on the aroma which is pretty much expected based on the description. It's strong, even a bit boozier than expected. Big body, full mouthfeel, fairly boozy hot on the finish.

Close to Rare 2015 in terms of richness and complexity. Very fudgy and a balanced bourbon heat across the tasting. The rye spice really elevates the flavor profile here. Excellent version.

On tap at 312 Block Party 2015
Was really excited for this one, liked BCBS Templeton 'Rare' considering 2 years in the barrel, but didn't have the depth of flavor one comes to expect with BCBS. A lot of rye whikey, some chocolate, oak, some rye spice.
Very whiskey heavy but offers little balance or depth.

Incredibly smooth BCS offering. Had on tap at Goose Island block party. Definitely better than the 1 year version which I've also had before. Lighter less "stouty" flavor than other offerings though smooth bourbon flavor won me over.

Had at the GI 312 Block Party 2015. Don't know why, but I figured the extra time in the barrel would mellow out the bourbon quality of this brew. Instead, it was the most bourbon forward beer I've had. Rye is there, but this beer is, in one word, strong. It wasn't hot, and didn't have that grape rind character of lesser BA stouts, but I was not prepared for this one. Good not great.
