What started as an inside joke between brewers about the rising trendiness and cringeworthy instagram posts of Rosés, turned into a beer concept that sounded too good not to pursue. With a blush of color from blackberry and Hibiscus, Pilzé is bursting with a bright, floral and Fruit nose. Bubbly and tart mouthfeel? Of course it has a Bubbly and tart mouthfeel. If we didn't get that right, then this beer wouldn't be deserving of that fancy accent mark. To further the complexity of this mashup of a beer, our brewers used Hallertau Blanc hops to impart that bright white grape character to wash down your avocado toast. #PilzéAllDay

Sampled in a taster glass from draft at The Vine on August 6, 2019. Pale lager brewed with hibiscus and blackberry. Hopped with Hallertau Blanc. Bright, floral and fruity nose. Bubbly and tart mouthfeel.

Pours a crystal clear pink tinted light yellow with a huge white head. Great lacing. Aroma is corn, biscuit, and slight berry. Flavor follows the nose with the berry more prominent . Feel is light and crisp but only adequately carbonated. Overall a pleasant enough beer with plenty of flavor for the low ABV.

Shimmering amber-gold with a light rose hue under a tall off-white foam.
Crisp corn, grass, wheat and straw populate the medium frothy body that finishes semi-dry. There's only a faint addition of herbal bittering hibiscus while the berry only seems to contribute the color really.
I'm not mad that the ingredients aren't slapping me in the face, it's a good pils really, with only the faintest hint of berry tartness.

A: The beer is clear rosé in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin film of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and bits of lacing running down the sides.
S: Light aromas of hibiscus are present in the nose.
T: The taste has light to moderate flavors of blackberries along with notes of green grapes and hibiscus.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has some refreshing qualities. It would make for a good selection on a hot summer day.

5/26/19 (Chicago): 16 oz can purchased at Beer on the Wall as four pack for $12.50 with tax, no canned date but best by 8/23/19 @ 11:02 date/time listed on the can, poured into standard pint glass. Golden brown pour, generous puffy and soapy head leaves light lacing, Heavy carbonation filters through quickly. Peppery bread lager aroma, backed by floral and grass, very pleasant. Taste consistent with aroma, nice peppery biscuit / bread taste backed by berries and grass / fruit. Clean crisp mouth feel, light fizz with remaining carbonation, clean and smooth drinking. Overall solid fruity lager, glad I picked this one up.
