What a beautiful pour. That's the first thing you notice - the cascading carbonation of bubbles up from the bottom. Chefa kiss. Lots of head. Frothy and foamy. Smell is like a tropical dream. I love a Belgian style beer. Taste is light but dank with nice orange peel and citrus. An expensive beer all things considered and it's produced by goose island which would give a serious craft beer drinker pause but this one is a home run. I'm a stickler with my rating but this one is tough to beat.

Sofie is a very fun beer, the bold flavors, especially the white pepper, perked me up from the first sip. It pours a nice golden color and the carbonation is highly active, making a million small bubbles seem as though they are chasing each other around. There is a little under a half inch of head when it is poured and it laces nicely down the side of a tulip glass. It smells like oranges and wine barrels.

Hazy, yellow color. Big , white head. Aroma of yeast, fruits , spices, lemon, and hint of farmyard. Crispy , fruity taste full of spices. Champagne feeling in the mouth. Dry finish with moderate, hoppy bitterness.

Probably a good beer just not my style. Tart, fruity. The bit of yeastiness is nice

This one is a bit aged but honestly appears it could be all the better for it. Nice sour and somewhat malty taste. Lots of honey, grassiness, white pepper, straw/hay, lemoniness going on here between the somewhat lactic tart notes. Golden straw color, somewhat clear with minimal head but a decent lacing. Active buildup of yeast culture on the cap but this beer does not taste off. It's got the typical saison character but is leaning on the wild ale side. It appears that aging is encouraged on this one with a "Drink by" date of "25APR27", so I could have apparently aged this one a bit more. Either way this is a very solid saison.

Exceeds Belgian originals as imported to USA. (So sorry, my wonderful Belgian friends.) However, I have yet to experience your beers fresh and local. I promise not to compare Sofie to your best until I visit your pubs.

12 oz bottle stamped 23 May 28 (no clue if this is exp date or mfgr date) into a tulip glass.
L: SRM 2 Pours a radiant yeasted lemon color with a light gold center, very active steady carbonation bubbles, a thin white frothy head that has very good retention, medium random lacing then no lacing with warming.
S: Belgian yeast, lemon zest, orange, distant caramel, a hint of bread with warming, lightly earthy.
T: Orange zest, light spices, earthy lemon, wheat, yeast, grains. Bright fruity finish with wheat notes.
F: Soft then even softer medium to med-light bodied feel with a medium-length slightly drying finish. The finish does linger.
O: Delicious, soft, and easy-drinking. A very pleasing and approachable Saison. I will buy this again. It is outstanding in its style.
