on cask at the Clybourn Brewpub in Chicago. pours a crystal clear amber color with fiery highlights and a solid finger of tight off-white head that has excellent retention and leaves no lacings. looks great in the glass.
aroma is lightly fruity with a very light base of funk and some citrus hops. some bready malt and a light sweetness round out the profile. very pleasant in the nose.
taste follows the nose with fruit notes of apple and a very light pear note. citrus hops on the back end tie together with the fruit along with a faint funk in the background.
mouthfeel is medium bodied and ultra smooth with a very palatable profile and a finish of residual bready yeast.
drinkability is great. very easy-going and wonderfully fruity (though subtle). well composed on the palate with a funk that is understated. a good saison on cask, though the funk could be a bit more pronounced. cheers!
