Goose Island Beer Co. "Birds Gameday Lager"
12 fl. oz. can coded "20JAN22 BF2121"
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear deep copper colored body beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma is clean but very basic with just some bready malt and the far-distant suggestions of hops. The taste is richer than the aroma suggests and it's grainy, bready, and toasty. There's an underlying fruitiness to it and I'm wondering now if it's made with Vienna malt. Or is that from hops? It could be. It's spicy and mildly herbal, but I think perhaps a touch citrusy as well. Yes, I think so, it comes out a little more in the finish. The bitterness is balanced towards a dry, spicy finish. In the mouth it's medium-bodied and crisp. The head dropped fairly quickly, and there's not a whole lot of lacing left behind but I do appreciate that they filtered it for clarity. It's a basic beer that's pretty well made.
