A - Hazy yellow color with a fairly big white head that left a ton of soapy stick on the sides.

S - Pale malts, grassy, some floral notes, little bit of citrus, hay, and touches of yeast.

T - Taste is about like the nose, with a slight bit more spice than you would expect. It's solid for the style.

M - Lighter bodied with medium carbonation and a bit of a dry finish.

O - Decent beer, I don't usually get into Saisons but this one is pretty clean and refreshing.

Pours a white head and leaves lace rings. Color is a hazed straw yellow.

Aroma: The lemongrass shows up front. Grassy and spiced. Light farmhouse funk. Very clean/crisp. Fruity. Green apples.

Taste: Lemongrass, citrus, straw, farmhouse funk, fruity, grassy, yeasty, and bready.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and clean. Lighter bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends a bit dry.

Overall, a nice easy drinking saison. Good flavors and refreshing. I dig it.

Draft. Served at Pracna on Main for the 2011 MN Craft Beer Week. Lemongrass Saison poured into a snifter a slight cloudy golden color with a slight head of white. The Belgian yeast really makes itself known in the nose along with some nice florals. Light mouthfeel. Light lemon zest flavors with some banana and clove. Some apricot as well. Nice and refreshing, I end up ordering another 10oz pour to enjoy.

On-tap at the Goose Invasion @ Small Bar Fullerton.

A - Pours a darker yellow color, white head, nice thick collar, and white whisps on top to round things out.

S - Smells funky, hay, light hops, subtle sweetness, lemon notes.

T - Lots of lemon right up front, some herbal/spice notes, light malts and hops.

M - Light, good carbonation, dry finish.

O - A solid saison that's accented nicely by the lemongrass and lemon thyme. Both add another level of complexity to this beer that I really enjoyed.

On tap at the Birdsal House a few months ago when GI pretty much took over the taps, and reviewed from notes.

Pours golden, cloudy, under a fluffy, of white smaller head, that is staying a bit. Leaves a tiny bubble fil, thin collar and then fine sheeting and well laticed lacing.

Light bubble gum in the nose.

More bubble gum, Belgian yeasty goodness, lime crunching, lite smoke, wheat malts, very dry finish. Complex, refreshing and super tasty stuff.

More quality Belgian inspired deliciousness from GI

On tap at the Goose Island Tap Takeover at Market in Rocky River.  After some detective work by Eddy, we have lift-off after stalling out our engines for a bit.

The beer is cloudy with a two finger head that eventually recedes to a thin film.  Some great lace and a wonderful golden complexion with lemon and sunshine colored edges.

Wow, the lemongrass really shines through!  Huge crisp citrus aroma with some nice thyme as well.   Herbal and inviting.  Some spicy pepper as well - it really makes the lemon pop.

The taste is also really lemony with some good tartness and a hint of pepper.  Slightly tart aftertaste with great lingering lemon.  That's what this beer should be called - Great Lingering Lemon!

The mouthfeel is lighter than medium with good carbonation and a tart aftertaste. Could be a touch more weighty in terms of the body and a touch more cohesiveness in aftertaste, it drops off pretty heavily.  If Indira was available,  I would drink it all the time.  This beer is wonderful, truly a wonderful summer saison in true Goose Island style.

On-tap for the August BA meet-up at Goose Island Clybourn - a John Laffler production, made with lemongrass and lemon thyme. Served in a pint-shaped taster glass, with multiple pours consumed.

A - Big foam, with two-plus fingers rising up in the undersized glass. Great retention that eventually settles to a thick cap, and glass-coating lace. Body is a hazy straw color.

S - Lemon zest, peppery yeast, a touch of spice, slight hay and floral notes, and pale malt. Very pleasant nose, with good balance between the flavor elements.

T - Taste is more yeasty and peppery, with some grass and light malt sweetness. The finish is sour lemon, and there is a moderately bitter aftertaste that I'm guessing comes from one of the extra ingredients.

M - Light body, very refreshing, but with surprisingly low carbonation left in the body after the foamy appearance. As a result things are a bit watery here. I'm not entirely sure this was intentional, as there were some issues getting the keg tapped at the beginning of the event.

D - A great summer Saison, with more depth than your typical lawnmower beer. I'd gladly have this again if it shows up in wider production. With a bit more spritz I think the flavors would open up and it'd be even better.
