On tap at Goose Island Clybourn, review from written notes.

Bright golden orange, slightly hazed though though it still had some clarity. Lasting retention, foam had a creamy texture and it left random arcs of lacing here and there. Light aromas of banana, orange peel, clove and pepper. Phenolic and yeasty.

Pepper, clove, and some light orange peel dominate the flavor, this batch is spicy... in a word. Herbal with a very dry finish. Creamy feel to it, soft carbonation with a medium body. A bit phenolic and heavy on the pepper/clove elements, but drinkable.

Draft at the Goose Island Clybourn pub. Poured a clear golden straw color with a fluffy white head. Solid Belgian yeast notes in the nose; banana, fruit, clove, and some fruit. Similiar taste profile to the aroma with the sweetness up front and some bitterness at the end. Medium/light mouthfeel. Pretty tasty but nothing really out of the ordinary.

Served in a tulip at Goose Island-Clybourn 8/29/10.

A: Served a chill hazed deep gold. One finger of creamy white foam sits on top but leaves just a few small flecks of lace behind.

S: Aromas of spicy/clovey yeast, citrus, toasty grain, and a hint of dust.

T: See above with more citrus presence. Also, an herbal hoppiness becomes more assertive as the glass wears on.

M: Starts smooth, gains some prickle, and finishes on the dry side.

D: A fine summer thirst quencher!
