One of the three "Easter Egg" variants released within the 12 oz four pack format in 2022.

This version of Bourbon County Brand Stout is a blend of only Wild Turkey barrel aged Bourbon County Brand Stout. Although the bottles are the same as the regular blended Bourbon County Brand Stout (labelled GI), you can tell if it is an "easter egg" bottle by checking the back of the label near the date code. The Wild Turkey "easter egg" bottle code ends in WT.

The pour is stout black and in 2026 it doesn’t have much in the way of head or lacing.
The taste is even better than normal BCBS, all the bourbon, chocolate, coffee and dark brown sugar of the regular and some additional warmth of the whiskey.
The feel is nicely viscous, I had expected thinner but it’s held up well.
OA, looking forward to trying the other three.

Poured at 58°. Black body with grayish/ruby edges; fizzy tan head; poor cap retention leaves a small island of micro dots; solid plus ring; initially some some soapy lacing; no legs on swirl. Nose is bourbon, chocolate and caramel; boozy retro nasal. Entry is chocolate fudge, bourbon, oak; dark fruit, figs on backend. Smooth feel; medium body; moderate minus carbonation; full face warmth from 13.8%; not adjuncty; dry wooden barrel finish. Overall, a bit thin for abv, but whiskey shines in parallel with fudgey base.

12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Best by 10/6/27, had 12/7/23.

Pours an opaque dark brown, with a half inch foamy head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of bourbon, tobacco, figs, roasted malt, brown sugar, oak, some vanilla and caramel, some raisins. Mostly similar flavors: bourbon, tobacco, oak, brown sugar, roasted malt, chocolate, some vanilla and caramel, light figs. Has a lightly sweet taste. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.

The Wild Turkey barrels are expressive and profile a little differently than most others. Has a great aroma with the flavor close behind. Think the blend was slightly better, but this is really solid.

Brief Review:

O: So last night I had the HH single-barrel. And much like I said with that one, I can tell it's different from the blend, but hard to separate these two sub variants. Again, this one is a little sharper, maybe tarter. I get some cherry and dark fruits more than the blend. Some slight coffee and bitterness too. Again, a very nice single-barrel take on regular BCBS.

Recommendation: Seems like it's worth trying any of the single-barrels if you can get them, but I don't know if collecting each and every one is worth it.

Bottle. Tan head that fades. Black color.

Like the 2022 base beer. Fudge, chocolate, brownies. Caramel, oak, bourbon, vanilla.

More barrel than the base. Warming all around. More oak as well. Solid heater.

Bottled 10/6/22; drank 12/16/22 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.

Oak, dark chocolate & bubblegum notes in the nose; unique!

Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Dark chocolate, bubblegum, oak & bourbon heat flavors.

This was more unique than the 2020 "easter egg", and more enjoyable too!

poured from a 12oz bottle into a perennial snifter. pours a cola brown but gathers in the glass a deep black with a thin mocha brown foam cap. chocolate, oak and whiskey on the nose. as it opens up more dark fruits are apparent along with tobacco and a subtle smoke. taste follows with rich chocolate, tobacco, oak and bourbon. thick, full mouthfeel with a lower level of carbonation. really good stuff. classic BCBS in the classic 12oz format.

Pours like motor oil, dark tan foam. Nose is bourbon with a hint of cinnamon. Tastes is sharp with bourbon, also comes with cocoa and anise, and just a hint of citrus. Very low-key twinge from the bourbon but it goes down easy enough. Almost worth the $.
