A: Served in a tulip with a small creamy white head. Clear gold in color. Head leaves blotchy sheets of lacing on the way down.

S: Smell is of Belgian yeast with a slight tart funk that is complemented by orange, tangerine, and lemon.

T: Lightly sweet malt backbone with a light lemon acidity. Tangerine, Belgian yeasts, and some faint spicy pepper. A very light funkiness.

M: Lighter bodied with lighter carbonation. Crisp, with a quick, clean finish.

O: A nice, quite enjoyable Belgian. Light and refreshing with a nice, summery blend of flavors. Orange is noticeable, but is neither out-of-place nor dominant.

Damn it all, there's one review on this beer and it's MasterSki giving it a good grade, so I will show my ignorance and lack of ability to pick out subtleties now by not liking it.

A - Golden colored beer with a white head that faded to a cap. Left some spots on the sides.

S - There is some funky yeast and just a ton of grain on this one. Also, it smells a little bit like socks, and not the kind that are fresh out of the laundry. There is some citrus in there, but smells a little more like pink grapefruit thank blood oranges.

T - Taste is not as funky as the smell, and very even. There is a little bit of yeast, orange peel, and a lot of grain. Tastes a bit like a macro lager that has a little yeast in it and was garnished with an orange slice.

M - A bit creamy, with active, but light carbonation. Lighter bodied.

O - It's a bit on the sweet side, and pretty easy to get down. Having said that, it's boring and not particularly good.

"Belgian Style Golden Ale brewed with Chef Rick Gresh of David Burke's Primehouse." Served in a taster pint.

A - Served with a finger-plus of white foam that settles to a thin cap, leaving behind splotchy lace. Transparent honey golden body.

S - Oranges, spicy Belgian yeast, hints of citrus zest and black pepper, and a sweet honey malt backbone.

T - Less sweet flavor, with more yeasty bread and only a faint amount of pale malt providing a hint of some sugar cookie. Light peppery and spicy esters mingle with some citrus zest provided by the Blood Orange addition.

M - Pleasant active carbonation that provides light tingle. Medium-light body with a mildly juice-like finish. Otherwise quite clean and refreshing.

D - It's a nice twist on the Belgian Pale style. The Blood Orange integrates well but doesn't overpower the base beer. The pleasant texture and flavor, along with lower ABV, make it so that I could drink multiple tulips in a sitting. Definitely one of the more successful Chef Collaboration beers.
