This is an excellent ESB which I had cask-conditioned at Goose Island Clybourne.
Copper, it had a small off-white head slowly shriniking to lasting thin top.
Aroma was dark dried fruits, malty toastiness, woody - very nice English character.
Taste was agian very English, sweet toasty-fruity maltiness with light woody-tea bitterness and toasty caramelly bread, esp. in aftertaste.

Served in a nonic pint glass at the Clybourn brewpub.
You gotta love when you're the fourth entry on this site for this beer, but you're the first actual review. Some people... And this was from my Pre-Gold Box Excursion, no less. Anyway, this stuff pours a clear dark amber-topaz topped by a finger of dirty-white foam. The nose comprises light dried maple syrup, very light dark grass, and light mixed nuts. The taste holds notes of mixed nuts, light dark greens, grass, and a bit of dry dark chocolate powder. The body is a light medium, with a light carbonation and a consequently smooth feel. Overall, a nice little ESB, though nothing I would readily order again.
