First of all, I must say this was a very good beer by a local brewery that I didn't even really know existed (as a brewery). I should have asked about the style since I didn't really want to take a blind guess. I'm not that great at identification. If I had to guess, I would say it was a Flanders red ale.
A: Mohogany red brown with a fluffy tan head that lingered for a few minutes. Very pretty in the snifter looking glass.
S: I could barely smell anything, which is uncommon for the style I think it is. Even as I finished it. Slightly sweet/sour grain. Maybe it was my nose and not the beer? I don't know.
T: Very sweet, rich and full. The light tangy sourness at the beginning was very good. Honey and brown sugar. Light hops and maple syrup. There was an odd bitterness that I couldn't quite place, and it was ever so slightly unpleasant.
M: Creamy and full bodied. Very good and simple. Low carbonation.
D: I want to go back for more of these. Too bad it's seasonal because I would like to have this beer year round. I was driving later, so one was enough.
