This is my second in my birthday box from Cottage Delight that I bought at John Lewis' Bottle Shop. The first was a somewhat hoppy English Pale (Happy Beer-thday) and this second is a somewhat hoppy lager. Both were good but not great. But anytime you can celebrate getting a year older, you've had a good year. The third bottle in the birthday box is called Old Farts. This last bottle also applies to me. Big time. More to come.
Birthday Boy Looks good enough, an OK foam if you drink it fast enough. Smells also are barely above average; I'm not nosing much more than malt. Tastes are balanced and finish refreshing and citrusy. Medium-mouthed. Crisp.
I give very good Overall Hugs for Staffordshire brewing and packaging their client (Cottage Delight) well enough to be picked up by John Lewis, an upper middle class department store. On to Old Farts. Let's see if I retract my Hugs.
