bomber from Greenlive AVL on Moogfest weekend 2011, consumed fresh and reviewed from notes...
a: poured into a tall allagash glass, beer the color of medium-dark honey, light head and retention
s: grainy caramel malt body with some rustic grain husk aroma, muddled pine tea hop nose, somewhat sweet, the grainy caramel is kinda nice but I can tell that this one is gonna be fairly standard...
m: carbonation light to moderate, a little spritzy, on a light-medium body
t: grainy caramel and muddled steeped pine needles upfront, musty rustic grains, moderately sweet with a moderate pine bitterness creeping into the finish, balanced and drinkable
o: tastes fine but unimpressive overall - nothing to really differentiate it from the other untold numbers of pale ales out there, but the fact that there's some caramel malt to grab onto does help and makes for a nice balance, wide appeal is likely what they were going for to appeal to the moogfest crowd

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a pint glass. Hazy burnt orange color appeared only after a long wait for the enormous head to dissipate. WAY over Carbonated. Head filled the entire glass. Tried to drink from the bottle and almost choked on the foam that accumulated in my mouth. Not impressed with that. Smell not too much to speak of. Taste is very hoppy, malty as well. Light crisp mouthfeel (after overcoming the carbonation). Overall, when actually tasting the product, it's an ok brew, but I really can't get past the excessive carbonation. Spent a long time trying to get the foam to liquefy. Sorry ABC & Moog. Probably wouldn't do it again.

Pours a hazy golden orange and a TON of foam for a head, surprised this wasn't a gusher
Smell is faint and slightly sweet. Hardly any hop aroma a a light whiff of light malts. Nothing very impressive
Seems to be a theme for me this week, another old pale ale/hoppy beer that has lost a majority of its bitterness. Lots of refined sugar flavor, hop cloying, and residual sweetness to this one
Medium body and a ton of carbonation and a clean aftertaste
Overall just another out of date pale ale

Strong aroma is malty and fruity with yeasty and grassy overtones and a hint of horehound. It pours a clear golden amber with a thick, fluffy eggshell head. Malty flavor has an overtone of Mandarin orange with a hint of lemon, as well as subtle caramel and grassy notes and just a touch of hoppy bitterness. Smooth texture is fairly fizzy and leaves a malty, sour citrus finish that has a touch of hops. A worthy homage to the inventor of the legendary synthesizer!

a: a rusty golden color with a thin head..hazy look to it
s: light notes of pine.. hints of bread..light caramel
t: a craft beer that tastes....like beer..tough as there are a lot of APAs out there and expectations run high, this one doesn't really leave a lasting impression...hint of bitterness towards to the finish with a slight sweet beginning...somewhat mild
m: medium in body
o: an ok beer, nothing I'd go out of my way for again..

dark amber with lots of carbonation visible coming up from the bottom of the glass. There was not really much of a head here, rather just a thin film of foam lace covering the top and a tiny bit of side glass lace down the sides.
English IPA type of smell that was muc sweeter then your average british version. Instead of having the huge amounts of floral and citrus hops, this was much more earthy with a a nice grainy and grassy dominance that had a touch of bitter in it towards the end. very nice grainy and grassy like hoppiness that was very dominant even from the beginning. This evolded nicely into a finely grained and bread like base that really pushed the envelope as far as hop much malt could go into this one while still keeping it true to its IPA roots. This then showed a touch of sweetness, almost caramel like, but more toned down then that. The finish was strong with dominant bitter and really drying everything out waiting for you to take the next sip from it.
M - Very nice medium bodied IPA. To be honest I was quite impressed with this one and it really seemed to make a nice little addition to the Great Lakes Brews I have been trying as of late. Rich and almost creamy like in the feel the crbonation held up great throughout the entire session and really have nothing bad to say about th

Pours a slightly hazy amber with a decent head that sicks around as a thin cap. Smells of tropical fruit, grain, and slightly of solvent. The taste is better, with more light grain and tropical fruit. Fairly balanced and with some light earthy and citrusy bitterness, but overall it's just another pale ale.

Poured into a pint glass. Apparently this is about a year old. We'll see is this APA can stand the test of time.
4.0 A: First pour yielded more than a hand of head with very little actual liquid accumulation. Several pours later I got a full glass. Despite having "filtered" in the name, this has a pretty good haze to it. Dark yellow in color with some crap floating throughout. Pillowy white head with very good retention and tons of lacing.
3.5 S: Earthy and piney hops with maybe some pineapple as well. A bit of caramel. Grainy with a dry dustiness to it.
3.5 T: A lot fruitier than the nose and features peach and apple notes. Bready yeastiness with a touch of caramel. A soft bitterness.
3.5 M: Medium body. Chewy. A bit overcarbonated. Smooth enough.
3.5 D: It's not that bad right now. I wonder what it would have been like fresh. This would be a much better beer if the yeast were cleaner.

Thanks to gehenherzog for this extra!
A: hazy bronze/light copper color. Sediment chunks contradict the purported filtering. I don't mind the haze and chunkage so much, but why call it filtered? Voluminous head is persistent.
S: vague fruit and earthy. Some caramel. Not a typical apa nose.
T: light. To medium sweet caramel malts are thoroughly washed out by a crisp hop bitterness. Earthy, spicy hop or yeast flavors. Finishes dry.
M: nice and frothy. Light body.
O: would like to know the abv. Different aroma and flavor for the style.
