A: pours a hazy reddish-brown with a finger of off-white head that fades into a frothy ring with decent lacing.
S: lots of oak on the nose with some dark fruits and red wine aromas. There are some light tart and musty notes as well.
T: oak and musty, tannin-rich red wine dominate here. There are someblightly bitter hop flavors on the finish.
M: medium body and carbonation, this beer is dry and drinkable.
O: an enjoyable and unique beer, overall. The wine barrel definitely dominates, but it's nice to have a lower abv, drinkable barrel-aged beer.
