A Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Pours a deep mahogany, a little hazy, but maybe because it came in a growler. Nice lingering light tan head.
Aroma is a nice complex blend of clove and dried fruit with some spice.
A fairly dry beer for the 9.0% abv, due to sugar additions, no doubt.
Flavor is dried fruit, clove, and light spice. It smells like it tastes, which is not always the case.
Excellent Belgian style ale and I have a growler!

Served in a 12oz glass at Jack of the Wood.Poured a hazy deep burgundy with a slight off white head that stuck around for a bit.Aromas were full of spice and dark fruit maybe a bit heavy on the spice with a touch of sweet bread dough.The cinnamon,clove-like spice I think was a bit overpowering over top of dried fruit and bread dough,the phenols in my opion were a bit heavy just spice and smoke flavors dominated a bit much for me.A nice stab and for strong Belgian dark fans this would be nice.

The beer arrived on the counter a cloudy amber brown with a tan long lasting head which stayed in place from first sip to last drop.
The aroma was earthy with a strong dark caramel and plenty of dark fruit character. Thrown in was a handfull of Belgian yeast spice presence and biscuity/bready aroma. The spices were accentuated by the alcohol level.
The flavor was earthy with dark fruity, raisins and prunes, coupled with spicy Belgian yeast character. The malt was dark caramel coupled with a strong biscuity and bready presence.
The finish was lasting dark fruit and clove and cinnamon spice long into the aftertaste. The body was medium full and the carbonation level made the mouthfeel very creamy.
