found my tasting notes for a few of these and since i cant drink for a while, might as well get some of them entered. served cold and poured into a pint glass.

pours black as night with a huge head of creamy tan on top that seems to hang around forever. really nice lacing and look to it overall. aroma is loaded with coffee, cookie dough and hints of roasted malts, really nicely done though the coffee does not translate as well in the flavor it is still there with a fine roasted quality cut with chocolate and vanilla and a sweet cookie dough flavor. nice sweet finish has a splash of vanilla and overall goes dwon very smoothly.

great offering here and one of my favorite styles overall.

Thanks to Enola for sharing his growler with me.
Pour is a pitch black, no light shines through. No head and light spotty lacing.
Smell is of strong coffee and mild chocolate.
Wow! This taste good. Taste like a fine pitch black strong coffee. This is THE BEER for coffee lovers. Hint of oatmeal and chocolate in the taste, but the coffee more than dominates.
Mouthfeel is thick, chewy, and oily just the way I think this style should be.
Too strong of taste to session, but still drinkable. I'm back to the growler for another pint.
Highly Recommended!!!

This beer is very dark. Pitch black. From a growler that was filled from a nitro tap. There was a thick creamy head at the brewery. The smell is like a cup of coffe but the taste seems to reveal the oatmeal more. The mouthfeel is very smooth. I could drink these again. This is a good beer from a good brewer.

The beer arrived on the bar black, pitch black in fact, with a tan frothy and long lasting head which never failed to lace the glass.

The aroma was roasty malt with a strong expresso coffee presence and that aroma was similar to putting your nose into a freshly ground a brewed batch of coffee.

The flavor was dry from the beginning with roasted malt and coffee lastint long and strong with some caramel presence but the beer never became sweet.

The finish was dry with lasting roast and coffee into the aftertaste and beyond. The body was medium with a creamy mouthfeel. A great beer, intensely roasty!

Pint at Dirty Jacks, board said 5.9% ABV.
