a new ipa in the all of a sudden trendy brut style, which i take to mean cleaner and drier and more carbonated? well, this one is, and its awesome, perhaps my favorite beer i have ever had from green man. this was lightly hazy but really bright in color, yellow to brassy, and held its short but stocky white head well. i think i like what this style means in theory, but until this one, i have yet to really love any of them that i had. the hop profile here is incredibly juicy and fresh, clean wet grass, vegetal greenness in a good way, a culinary herb thing for a second, and finally a nice west coast sort of oily citrus complex, orange and lemon mostly, mild bitterness but enough to help it finish, and a wonderful vinous character, not from the yeast or anything, but from the hops and the dryness along with the stone fruit, super unique complexion, i would love to know what hops are in here. i get peach and papaya and canned pineapple, along with a simple dry pils type malt base. its just awesome, bone dry and majorly refreshing without feeling at all watery like some of these do. brut makes me think of champagne, like the style should be finished with champagne yeast or something, but seriously this one almost seems like it is. summery and crushable and excellent. maybe the best green man beer i have ever had!

Enjoyed at Green Man ‘s Dirty Jacks.

My first Brut ipa. West coast style, but super dry as advertised. No residual sweetness whatsoever. I’ve had this beer on two occasions, pretty enjoyable.
