On-tap 2/6/2017 at the brewpub in Middletown, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a short dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains caramelized malts, nuts and some hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character and a nutty flavor up front. Then some very mild sweetness comes in from flavors of caramel and fruit. The hops presence is mild for the style but brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Poured in a 7 oz. sample glass as part of a beer flight at the Coddington Brewpub in Middletown, RI.
A: A coppery, golden amber color with a thin, creamy head of off-white foam.
S: Smells slightly spicy, with hints of clove and pachulie oil thrown in with some malt mustiness.
T: Pretty plain toasted English malt blend with a bit of caramel sweetness to it and a bitter, English roast malt flavor. No real hops to speak of, but a decent example of malt derived bitterness.
M: Medium bodied and slightly chewy, but smooth with some creaminess to the feel as well.
D: A good session choice at the brewpub for an English malt fan. Sort of a spice rack bitterness, but the 4.9% ABV and sturdy enough flavor make it an okay option.

very average brew, here. the head was uninspired and provided that glass with nothing to hold onto. consequently the aroma is weak, with faint fruit and floral hops. the body is ok
a touch of toastiness and hop flavor, the latter manifested in the form of blackcurrant and mint
a fresh brew but, again, average

I really enjoyed this offering. It poured a nice dark amberish brownish color. Hazey tanish almost. Nice creamy head that was present for a while. Beautiful lacing that went from the top to the bottom of the pint glass. Smooth clean smell. Nice light citrusy hop smell with a light blend of maltyness. Great taste very enjoyable and a great mouth feel. Light maltiness with a nice hop finish. Very drinkable and extreemly refreshing. Nice balance between malt and hops. What I expected in a good ESB. Well done beer and nice presentation of flavor and taste. I also pick up a growler of this beer for the next day. Well worth trying this beer! :)

Pours a deep amber with red flash tones when light shines thorugh. A thin filmy head stuck to the top of the beer. The aroma is of sweet hops and freshly cut grass. The flavor is slightly malty, but with kick-in-my-teeth hops. Grass notes also come through as well as a bit of citrus--grapefruit. The hops are great--not too strong but simply bold. It is very light and crisp on the tongue. My gut tells me this beer would be very refreashing on a hot day, a good spring/summer brew.

Deep copper color with a thin 1/2" head that lasted through half the drink. Light malty aroma. The flavoring is unbalanced as the malt is overwhelming and the bitterness is very light. There are also some sour citrus tones evident, and some other off flavors I could not determine.
The mouthfeel was very smooth and so was the finish. The malt and sour tones lingered a bit. The off flavors make this low on the drinkability scale.

On tap, presented in a shaker pint glass.
Dark auburn colour, with a thin white head. Tons a sticky lace cling to the glass as I drain the pint.
The nose has some sweet malt, earthiness, & bright floral hop aromas.
Sweet caramel malt, rather robust. Some apple flavour, somewhat crisp. Well hopped, slightly bitter, floral finish. As it warms, it opens up a bit - adding more fruit & some of the earthiness hinted at in the nose.
A tad on the thin side of medium, easy carbonation.
A nicely done ESB. Solidly built, but not spectacular.
