I've never heard of a Newark hop...bartender told me it's new and people have said that this is the best IPA batch. Hmmm....
Appears a cloudy orange with a small, creamy white head. Little streaks of lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of tangerines with some bitter tangerine peel.
Taste is of the same sugary tangerine with some creamyness. Interesting brew.
Mouthfeel is creamy and sugary without a whole lot of bitterness expected from an IPA. I'm curious as to when Emerson is adding his bittering hops in this, or what the IBU's are. They seem like they're in the mid 20's...kind of dissapointing for an IPA.
Drinkability is actually pretty nice for this one. It just needs a bit more complexity to be an overall winner.
