Presentation: Sampled during an organized Brewery Visit to Brasserie Mortals Beers on Sunday 16th April, 2006. Served from the tap (but also available in bottles) in the adjoining Bar and Restaurant which opens to the public once a week on Sundays 11am 9pm.
Yellow Mortal Brewed with Fruit and Hops. 7.2% ABV.
Appearance: Pale chestnut with a fading orange-amber body, before I walked from the bar to my seat the head was gone, I mean like toe-taah-llee gone as the dumb blondes say in California. I think it was off-white, but hard to say. Looks like a flat Whisky. Bit crappy in the appearance stakes.
Nose: Caramel and sugary malt with some old spice and orange juice. Pickled terds, disposed tampons and flamboyant Brut 33 aftershave ..oh wait I made that last bit up, it would help to break the boredom though. One dimensional caramel and malt aromas that reminded me of a melted Caramac bar.
Taste: How can I describe this one? Well the best analogy is for to say that it reminded me of a faded old English Bitter, old as in, left on the Bar for a few hours. It soon feels likes a Pint of flat English Bitter, and not a good one, something like a Tetleys or John Smiths, that was never served with a sparkler in the first place. Flaccid.
Mouthfeel: Soft feel and a light creamy texture on the palate, surprisingly good given the low conditioning. Patently flat though in a disappointing way, and thinner than a piece of paper on a crash diet.
Drinkability: Nil Points. Far from enjoyable. Im sure something went awry here.
Overall: Not that impressed with this one, the 7%+ certainly does not benefit the brew like it should. A yellow-belly brew that has a cowardly cross-section.

No freshness date. Appearance is far of as if this is suppost to be an belgium brew as there is hardly any head to see and gone withing seconds. Is this brewed for England. Certainly looks like it.
Further a amberbrown beer with light fog. Nose is oaked&smoked, porty, pepper spiced and caramellic with slight hoparome. Overal nice and very porty. Taste is litle sweet but with nice candy and caramel arome. Further alcoholic, porty before moderate bitterness and spice take over for aftertaste. Good brew that gets better when you had some sips and got used to the taste. Full and clean mouthfeel maybe just litle oversweetened but drinkable and something else.
