Presentation: 25cl glass sampled at the Brasse-Temps Brewpub in Mons during a recent Brewery Tour and Visit here on Saturday 15th April, 2006.
Appearance: Pale brown with a lofty head at first. The head seemed to last on this one a little longer than the other offerings previously endured.
Nose: Flaked oats and biscuit, one of those stodgy noses that seemed like a little like Horlicks. Malts and a very low-key spice at the finish. A tad unappealing.
Taste: Served super chilled I wasnt sure about this at first. As it warmed my harsh reactions to the earlier Brasse-Temps failure rescinded a little Not half bad, a run of the mill Amber ale that had a little spice to take off the edge. Just dipped below average though.
Mouthfeel: Has a reasonable attitude and body. Still over-carbonated for my liking which dropped it to a 2.5. In fact all of the house brews were over-carbonated in the Brasse-Temps during my visit (except the Kegs of the two Bush beers). Below average body overall with a reasonable feel once it melted and warmed up a little.
Drinkability: Middle of the road at best, to be honest I wrote a 2.5 for the notes as with the others beers, but this was really a 3.0, I had just grown tired of the house brews after trying four of them in a row and wanted rid of this beer and something decent. Try this one first and its probably OK to be fair.
Overall: Last but not least of the four house brews on offer. After three massive bombs from the copper kettle at the Brasse-Temps in Mons, this brew proved to be at least half palatable .Id still recommend sticking to the draft Bush 10° and 12° straight from Dubuisson rather than the shabby house brews if you ever get to the Brewpub!
