This beer has an amber color with a thick foam head, but to be fair almost all of the cask beers at Great Waters pour with a nice head. The nose is one of faint hops. The flavor is smooth and malty with just a touch of hoppiness. The beer finishes clean. I would have to go ahead and call it a B+ on my own scale.

On-cask at the brewpub: In honor of Monty Python and the play Spamalot comes this long winded name of a brew from Bob.

Solid orangish brown color with a dullish gleem to it. Medium sized head of frothy dulled/pale whitish foam crowns this gem. Fine lacing trickles down this sides in some strings and spots.

Aroma is kinda spicy with toasted grains and hops. Mildish caramel tucked with dull orangeish candy and dryness of peach hazelnut and grasses.

Taste is uniquely made up of the combination of what I'm told was Maris Otter barley and Easy Kent Golding hops; I traditonal recipe used back in the day for cask brews - and it shows. Its kinda got a spicey ring of grasses and dough. Slight caramel push and a good portion of toasted stuff at the edges. But the delightful spice stays pretty forward giving a unique touch of some kind of grass and citrus mix. Borderline herbal and breadish.

Good smooth cask flowing body of medium girth. Snappy, toasty, and spicy. Nice herbal hoppy dryness within the toasted spicy realm and keeps a nice length to it the whole way through.

A solid ESB; however strange the spice may seem to what most ESB's may be like.
