Here at Saugatuck Brewing Company, we love love and we want to spread it around. That's why we partnered with local leaders from the Saugatuck/Douglas community to create this flavorful lager and bring people together over a beer to celebrate equality and diversity.

Since I spent a couple/few days celebrating CANada Day on 01 July, it only seems right & fitting to spent this four-day weekend drinking, reviewing & rating AmeriCAN-owned & made beers. Cheers!
I shoulda had this one during Pride Month in June, but the month was wildly disrupted by my prostate surgery. Oh well. I'm only five days late …

I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a nice, steady C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It beCAN foaming of its own volition, but it was that rolling, roiling action that formed a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, soapy, bone-white head & then disappeared. 8=( Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a pleasantly clean breadiness. Mouthfeel was kind of thin & watery, but that is acceptable in the style. The taste was lightly bitter, mostly bready/ doughy & generally pretty innocuous. It was not going to knock anybody's socks off, but it probably sells well as a fundraiser. It was a simple, clean Lager that was quite refreshing on this hot, humid Summer night. Finish was crisp & dry, just the way I prefer my beers. CAN't go too wrong with this one! YMMV.

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 4/5/2019. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of pale malt/grains and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Slight lingering resins through the glass. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is an excellent American pale lager. All around great robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Very clean pils malt/grain showcase, and great noble hop presence/balance for the style. Not overdone on adjuncts. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example.
