341 ml bottle served at cellar temperature into a pint glass. I'm certain, I've got the right brewery since address and websites match up with what's listed here. Anyway thanks to Claudia and Kevin for the gift.
Appearance - Pours a brilliant, clear, dark copper color. Topped with a finger of off-white head, the retention time of which is modest. Goodly amount of carbonation.
Smell - Clean and aromatic with some fruity esters (think plum), caramel malt and some middling grain. Nothing exciting, but certainly good enough for the style.
Taste - Pretty mild, with bitterness creeping at the start, a lovely touch of plum and herbal aspect mid-sip before fading away with a slightly chalky characteristic. Hard to describe but pretty good stuff.
Mouthfeel - Starts a little fizzy, but that dissipates quickly, thinner than usual body and very dry finish. Very smooth overall.
Overall - A well crafted and enjoyable enough tipple. Here's hoping that distribution picks up some and that other BA's can try this fine little bitter.
