I love that there's a true plummy sweet aftertaste, despite the fact this is by no means overwhelmingly sweet. Pretty balanced actually with some good malt, and a great mouth feel.
Good French barleywine.

This beer is alright but I can't call it a barleywine. The yeast esters are very strong here with some pear mostly. The toffee is there with some piney and herbal hop notes. It has the character of a strong bière de garde.
The sweetness is opposed to the astringent mouthfeel. The booziness is quite high. Almost balanced. I would have rate this beer differently if it wasn't labelled as a barleywine

Dark orange color. Aroma is nice, some fruity notes but also some caramel, blending very harmonious together. Taste starts with some dark fruit notes, figs and dates and continues with caramel and sweet malts. Aftertaste has also some bitterness to balance everything out. Alcohol is present but not in a bad way. Overall this is a pretty decent barleywine.
