On tap at the restaurant; poured into a pint glass.
Appearance- amber, slightly hazy, low carbonation and a thin white head. Lacing is minimal.
Smell - mild pine and floral hops with a touch of cracker malt.
Taste - identical to the nose.
Feel - bitter hops take hold of the palate in this mild bodied ipa.
Overall- it’s decent, but really ho hum.

This isn't bad. Big red. Soapy swampy head. Chaffy, but still more sweet than bitter. Actually surprisingly sugary. Significant lacing. Pairs well with tortilla chips.

On tap at C.B & Potts (Arapahoe - Centennial).
A - The beer was served in a pint glass with virtually no head. I watched the pour and it never really had a lot of head, perhaps 1/2 finger of white foamy head, but it very quickly dissipated. In the 20 seconds it took from the tap to my bar stool it was gone. No lacing. Perfectly clear light amber color.
S - The aroma is probably the best feature of the beer, in my opinion. It's a little sweet with some fruity tones to match the toasted malt. The hops are nice with citrus and floral aromas.
T - The flavor doesn't seem to match the nose. It starts with a strong malty sweetness. The bitterness is medium though the hops are more of a grassy and earthen flavor than the citrusy floral nose. It doesn't seem balanced even for an IPA as the flavors don't blend well. Finishes crisp with a lingering and overpowering bitterness.
M - It's almost bright in it's crispness, if that makes sense. Ultra crisp with excessive carbonation.
D - Less than average.
Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

No freshness date.
This pours a bright amber red with a 1 finger head of foam.
The smell is hoppy on the fruity side and I mean more than just citrus. Almost cherry like. Not much else going on but it's decent.
The taste is...well...to me, an unbalanced mish mash of flavours. The hoppiness is rough and earthy and creates an unpleasant bitterness. The best part of the tasting experience seems to be the pretty tasty flavour that the malt brings but it gets overun by the hops too damn easy. A pity.
The mouthfeel is also not so good. Very harsh and tingly on the tongue even though the carbonation seems to be at the right level.
Drinkability? This does not hit my palate well at all so....I will not seek this out again. The mess of the flavours makes this almost undrinkable.

Served at C.B. and Potts in an 18oz. chilled pint glass. Not ideal but I didn't have a say.
Big Red is a slightly hazy redish amber beer with thin white head. Good retention and great lacing left behind.
Aroma is mild for an IPA but it does have a good hoppiness to it. It reminds me of a PNW IPA.
Flavor is better than expected. It has a nice fruity hop character with citrus and apples. Bitter but not over the top, it's nicely balanced by some caramel sweetness from the malts.
Mouthfeel is nicely judged as well with medium body and low--to-medium carbonation. Alcohol is either very low or extremely well-hidden.
Overall a solid version of the style. With so many greats in the category though, it's still not anywhere near the top. Worth a try if you get the chance - just make sure you ask for a room-temperature glass.

On tap at the Broomfield, CO location.
This one poured a medium amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus and some lighter fruitiness. Tastes of citrus, light pine, and had the same fruitiness. Lighter bitterness factor.

Unfornutekly this brew pub served me this beer in a lighty frosted beer mug. At least it was only lightly frosted
A-light Amber with a red glow. 3/4 inch hwhite head with so so retention but good lace.
S-Citrus rind hops, green hop, a lot of grapefruit comes through in the middle. A touch of caramel malt but but hops dominate the nose of this one.
T-Interestingly, the caramel malt jumps right out in front upon the first sip. This is followed, however, by a big smack of bitterness, like grapefruit rind and pith. Grapefruit juice comes through in the middle along with some green hop flavors, other citrus. Not too bad
M-Medium body, a little creamy with a zingy carbonation.
D-quite good I could have four og these, oh wait I did.
