Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a copper color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a light level of retention, fading quickly to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a caramel smell mixed with some other light dark fruit aromas as well. Along with these smells comes some light notes of earth and a bit of herb.
Taste- The taste begins with a sweet caramel and fruity taste with a little bit of a bready taste. Along with these is a very light hop flavor of grass and herb. As the taste advances the breadiness and caramel increase all while the fruitiness decreases. In the end, more hop flavors of grass and herb and a rather stronger increase in an earthy flavor come to the tongue, leaving one with a nice easy drinking, slightly sweeter, but very approachable taste on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is average as well. For the sweeter and slightly more bready and malty flavors the feel is quite nice and makes for a nice drinker overall.
Overall – A very nice drinker overall. Slightly sweet, but rather flavorful. A good brew for the cooler weather to sit back and sip over the long haul.
