This american ale triumphs as Howe Sound makes short work of the struggle to balance hop and sweetness that other breweries fall flat in. Reserved hop presence does not overshadow the honey flavors and make for an easy drinking experience. If you're a total hop head this beer may disappoint, but for those who like a happy medium it succeeds on all fronts.

I bought this 1 L growler in northern BC. It has a moderate amount of foamy-creamy, light beige/yellow head with a cloudy gold colour body. There is a light floral aroma with some lemon freshness. The taste is stronger than what the aroma suggests but is not particularly strong. A breadiness and hops bitterness dominate the flavour. There is a light honey flavour. The taste is short-lived giving way to a booziness, even though it is 5%. It has a light-to-medium body and medium-to-high carbonation. Overall, it is a really good pale ale and very drinkable but with the alcohol taste building up in the aftertaste I can only go so far.
