HANGING GARDENS - Barrel-Aged Stout ,11.4% ABV, 2023
The base of this beer is a blend of our Award Winning Imperial Stout and Barley Wine aged for 16 months in Cognac and Bourbon Barrels. It was then blended with an Abbey Quad aged in Tawny Port Barrels, and further Barley Wine to become Hanging Gardens.
Hanging Gardens opens with aromas of baker's chocolate, demerara sugar, and molasses. Dark berries hit the palate shortly after, with some mild tannins and flavours of fig, almond, and oak.

Howe Sound Brewing 'Hanging Gardens' Barrel Aged Stout @ 11.4% , served from a 473 ml can , 2023 vintage
A-pour is a very dark cola from the can to almost black in the glass with a small size tan head leaving a spotty lace along the tulip
S-Cognac & Bourbon barrel aging
T-big & boozy , some sweet smoothness leads to a boozy swallow
MF-ok carbonation , big full body , warming
Ov-the base of this beer , an Imperial Stout & Barleywine plus Abbey Quad , add a Tawny Port barrel aging and more Barleywine equals an impressive beer , needs to be cellared , try and give it time
