Pours cloudy, dark brown and maroon. Minimal dark white head leaves otmarks of lace on the pint.
Aroma of caramel and toffee malt, resined hops and a burnt charcoal note.
Flavors of caramel, slightly burnt, dominates the front profile. Back half moves to a light peat and scotch profile with a heavy dose of alcohol.
Mouthfeel has a great malt opening as it lines the mouth with sticky sweetness. Unfortunately, this quickly is erased by a gritty burnt charcoal hit and then finished off with a pronounced grain alcohol hit.
Drinkability is solid. I'd call it A for effort and C for execution. High ABV shows through too much and simply ruins the grat profile of the the little brother.

Had this one on-tap at Founder's today. Apparently they messed up a batch of the Dirty Bastard and accidentally put in double the malts. The beer had a dark copper appearance with a small amount of foam above the liquid. The smell is strong in alcohol and reminds me of straight scotch wiskey. The taste has more dimensions to it. Mainly I notice a sweet caramel malt flavor as well as a honeyish tone to it. There's a coffee characteristic in the kick in the back of my throat. Not enough bitterness though to back up the sweetness. The taste is almost cloying but alcohol keeps it from being too sweet. Full hop leaves are noticed on the finish and the burps afterwards. This beer could wear on some people but to me it's dangerously drinkable.
