I had the pleasure of getting to try this summer offering as a test beer while attending the West Michigan BA Pub Crawl. This beer is a trial between one other (Sundancer) as a summer seasonal to be bottled.
It arrived a clear but hazy gold with a fair one inch head that faded quick to nothing (not even a film). No lace to be seen. The aroma had a sweet malty bread-like backed with honey over-tones. The taste carried rye & biscuit-honey favor with a sweet malt backed by a slight balance of hop.The mouth was left alittle tart but nothing lingers to say get in the way of summer foods. I found the beer to be rather drinkable, refreshing and would make a fine summer offering. The rye would help it stand out as not your run of the mill seasonal.
