This offering from Founders pours a deep mohagany color with auburn on the sides. Nice thick tan head holds up well. Aroma was very nutty and a little bready. Taste reminded me of roasted chestnuts. Slight caramel/honey flavor behind the roasted nuttyness. Hops are kept in check here but give the beer a nice bit of bitterness and dryness. Black currents lie underneath. Becomes a little overly acidic towards the finish. Alcohol is a bit abrasive and definitely has a precense. This beer is solid all around, the body is a little rough and acidic, not as smooth as most browns but more intriguing. Another job well done.
