A basic, plain jane pale style brew by the folks up at Founders.

Pour is dark straw, with a nice white head on top, it does have an appealing apperance. Smell, not a lot going on, some yeast, maybe a hint of malts.

Flavour, very smooth with some malt aspects, a little bit of breadiness, but nothing overly depthy. For the style, a shade above average.

Mouthfeel and drinkability, both about average for the style, not a lot of hop bitters of thickness here, but what do you expect? Ditto on the drinkability, very easy to drink, but it's a very light beer.

The bottom line: a decent take on "standard beer" by the guys at Founders. A nice option if you need to take a break before having another 8%+ beer.

Went to Founders for their "Black Party" and tried this amazing Pale. Poured slighlty hazy with a beautiful hoppy aroma. The head remained throuout most of the pint. The texture was crisp and somewhat more full than the regular Pale ale that they bottle. I would serve this beer on tap to friends proudly. HIGHLY RECOMEMNDED!!!

Curiousity killed me. I've been to Founder's so many times, it was time to try this offering. Pours a somewhat cloudy golden color with a thin white head skim the liquid above. Lacing is fairly weak. Aroma seemed to be almost corny to me. Also a bit bready and grassy. Cornbread aroma maybe. I don't know, it was weaker and showed nothing too interesting. The same can be said for the flavor. Weak flavors. Slight fruityness in the acidic form and a bit of residual sweet malt, a bit of grass taste, and finished off by a crisp nothingness. For what it is, this was decent. But its the same price as many other, much better offerings. I liked the Trois better.

Nice. Presented a slightly cloudy golden yellow color with a higher level of carbonation, and a soild 1/8 inch head of white foam. Some notes of bready yeast on the nose, and minor traces of malts. Taste was very fresh and malty, making this an excellent choice should be be looking to session at Founders. Mouthfeel was decent, with a nice amount of carbonation keeping things zesty. A high level of drinkability. This is what a session beer should be. Recommended.

I had time for a quick stop by the brewery, for in-town for a meeting. I chose this Extra Pale mostly for its low abv and easy drinkability, as I thought. Like I said, this was a quick stop, mainly for the to go cooler.
Anyway, it was drafted and arrived a rich shaded golden color. Carbonation was good, though the creamy off-white head, that was small to begin with, faded to a thin film. Very little spotted lace.
The aroma was biscuit and bread like with a mild malt profile with a hint of grassy hop in the background.
The taste carried that malty bread-like hint as a soft but more noticed grassy hop makes its way to crisp the drink and follow thru the mouthfeel. The mouth is left crisp, clean with a slight hop linger.
Drinkability, yes, a good "go to" beer if you have just alittle time or if you want to drink all night.
Another good Founders offering, not to Big, and not to heavy. Cheers, Now...to that to go cooler!!

The very first thought that went through my head when I tasted this beer was "Woh, is this a Pilsener?" but it's definitely ale. I feel like my non "beer-geek" (their term for me) friends could try this and like it, even if they don't think it's great. I don't think it's "great" but it is a pretty good offering for a "low-carb" blonde ale (Nate at Founders said low-carb, not me)

This was light golden with decent frothy head (for a bar pour) that quickly retreats leaving a skid mark of film. Very little smell of grass and a little malt.

Biscuity malt is very light and almost salty with a delicate hop profile of cut grass and herbs. A crisp light body with some decent carbonation.

Doesn't stand out in any way shape or form, but I could easilly slam this brew all night long.
