Interesting barrel-aged beer sampled on tap at Founders. Great dark brown-amber color with a little head and minimal spotty lingering lacing. Smells of brandy, wood and some fainter fruity hops. Tastes similarly, along with some vanilla, molasses, brown sugar and caramel. Just a hint of malt. Smooth slightly creamy mouthfeel and good amount of carbonation. Definitely a sipper as the high ABV packs a small punch. This beer tastes better as it slowly warms.

Again, ipas are not really my style of beer, but, when you go to Founders, you kind of have to try the Taproom specials. This one isn’t particularly hoppy but the brandy really stands out. So, if that’s your thing, you’ll love it! For me, it was just okay. That abv though!
