Black IPA brewed using Midnight Wheat & Crystal malts, Amarillo, Chinook, Azacca, and Mosaic hops. Brewed in memory of our friend and co-worker, Jon Yarrington.

Pours jet black with nice creamy foam. There’s an earthy, herbaceous aroma with some grapefruit notes. Nice, dank, hoppy finish. Black IPAs are due for a comeback.

Very nice new black IPA sampled on tap at Founders. Great dark black color with a little lingering head and nice spotty lacing. Smells of fruity, floral and a little piney hops. Tastes similarly, along with caramel, grain, vanilla and a nice malt backbone. Very well-balanced. Smooth mild mouthfeel, good carbonation. Hopefully they keep this one!
