Nice new imperial IPA tried on tap at Founders. Pours a light golden color with a little lingering white head and very spotty lacing. Smells of mango and papaya, as advertised, but also some lighter tangerine, orange and pineapple. More faint malt and vanilla. Taste follows the nose, but the mild bitterness is well checked by the sweeter malt backbone and the fruity flavors aren’t too obtrusive. Still feels like a nice smooth IPA - you can’t really tell it’s a double since the higher ABV is well-hidden. Smooth, thin, mild mouthfeel with good carbonation. Excellent overall taste, depth and aromas. Would definitely try again.
