The idea for this beer came from Mug Club Member Alyssa Kirkopoulos! White Stout pours gold with a white head. Guatemalan coffee was hand picked and roasted by our friends at The Great Lakes Coffee Company which imparts rich aromas of chocolate and cocoa. An aging on vanilla beans and cocoa nibs compliment the coffee and provide more vanilla and cocoa flavors and aromas. Lactose sugar was used in the brewing process to lend a smooth and sweet finish.

Howler filled Jun 15, 2019 at Founders taproom in Detroit. Served in beautiful frosted plastic cups.
Pour: Golden color, small head, minimal lacing. But, there was a nice frothy head in the top of the howler when opened. Plastic cups weren’t ideal for presentation.
Nose: vanilla and coffee with slight sugary sweetness.
Taste: pretty much follows the nose with coffee upfront, vanilla sweetness, malty backbone.
Mouthfeel: moderate carbonation. Not syrupy but substantial enough. Pretty clean finish.
Overall: a touch sweet for me but very drinkable and would buy again. Generally well liked by the group I was with.
