Draft pour into a Pint glass at Founders Brewery
(A)- Pours a hazy orange copper color with very little head formation. . . none actually.
(S)- Spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, clove, and apples, very cider-like.
(T)- Rather hoppy and piney with a corn-ish cinnamon/nutmeg/clove thing. Not as pleasant as the smell was offering. The pale ale aspect and the spices added really conflict with each other in a way that I am not a fan of. It almost actually makes it bitter, but not in a good way.
(M)- Good carbonation level, but it is a very conflicted beer in its flavor profile. Almost harsh, disjointed, and chaotic.
(D)- An interesting take on a Pale Ale, but it doesnt quite work I think. Its a bit out there; rather funky and harsh. But I respect Founders for trying new things.
