On cask at the Pour House in Westmont, NJ.
Pours a very muddy/clay-like brownish red color with a two finger creamy off-white had that very slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Very good retention, taking a while to settle and leaving streaks of soapy lacing in its wake. Good retention and lacing but the Color is really ugly and swampy looking.
Slightly floral earthy hop presence in the nose but the aroma is dominated by malts and a strong rye character. Surprising since this beer is double dry hopped but I guess the firkin takes away from the hop profile a bit. Some grassy, earthy resins and pine followed by caramel malt sweetness, toffee, biscuit, light fruit and very strong spicy rye. As it warms, the hops start to show a bit more but the nose is still dominated by the rye and sweet malt.
On the lighter end of medium body with a slightly creamy texture and a much stronger hop presnce than the nose hinted at. Still dominated by sweet malt and peppery rye but the hops are stonger and it's better balanced than expected. Dry and earthy hop bitterness with dank, sticky resins countered by subtle tropical fruit. The sweet malt backbone is prominent with caramel, toffee, light toast and dark fruit notes. Prominent peppery rye with a nice spicy edge complimenting the dryness of the hops. Cask conditioning kind of takes away the bite but it's still pretty nice. Good balance of hops, sweet malt and spicy rye flavor.

On handpull at the brewery, into a pint glass.
Hazy dark red in body, with an incredibly dense offwhite head. Fantastic lacing and a thick cap of retention. Juicy citrus notes on the nose, orange and grapefruit stand out. Sweet caramel malt, but the rye isn't that apparent. Perhaps a bit of cake as well. Sweet caramel note son the apalte, bread and assertive citrus hopping, more orange and clementine. Sweetness isn't overdone and matches the hopping quite well. "Smooth as (expletive)" my notes indicate (in the best way), just a fantastic cask feel. Gentle carbonation and incredibly creamy. A really solid beer, and the mouthfeel really elevates this beer to a different level.

Cask event at Crunchy's in East Lansing to kick of their Michigan Beer Month
Firkin to 16oz standard pint
A: Poured with a 1/2 finger of thick tan head which left plenty of lace and hung around throughout as a nice thick cap. Color was orange-amber with a good amount of haze.
S: Predominantly cascade citrus with notes of grapefruit and orange.
T: Rye is still up front with a nice earthy spice flavor. Hop up-front as well with taste following the nose. As the beer warmed caramel malt notes progressed developing a well rounded flavor.
M: Medium body and low carb.. A slick resinous finish.
D: Red's Rye is one of my favorite beers out there and the dry-hopped firkin did not disappoint. My notes say "ALL DAY LONG."

Pours clear, vibrant ruby with a huge fluffy head. The aroma is sweet and strong, with a cherry cola character. There is some herb, maybe sweet rosemary. The flavor is intense and musky, like a sexy cherry. There is pineapple and cherry and a spicy apricot. There is a deep, musky bitterness. Mouthfeel is clingy and thick.
