On-tap at the Brick Store. I'm not sure of the story behind this beer, it was closer to Devil Dancer than Double Trouble though, maybe a treatment of Devil Dancer.
Pours a hazy copper color with a 1.5-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving solid lacing.
Smells of mild amounts of grainy caramel malts and large amounts of herbal, pine, and citrus hop aromas.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Mildly dry caramel malt flavors kick things off and are overtaken almost immediately by pine hop flavors with hints of herbal hops serving as a backbone. Midway through the sip the hop flavors let up a bit and allow hints of citrus to carry through to a solidly bitter ending.
Mouthfeel is OK. It's got a nice thickness however the carbonation is a bit on the harsh side.
Drinkability is good. I finished my glass without any problems and could have another.
Overall this is a huge and hoppy beer however the hop flavors are bit too unrefined and overpowering for this beer to be very good. Still, it's worth a shot.
