Notes from 2/16/11.

Waitress said this is an IPA made with 20% rye and 4 hop varieties.

Pours golden with red hues. A nice 1 finger fluff crowns the brew. Lacing is very nice as it lines the glass all the way down.

There are a plethora of hop flavors in the smell meeting a wort like malt backbone. The hop flavors remind me of orange, pine, lemon, melon, and some black pepper.

The rye really mellows this brew and adds some spice. I was surprised when the waitress said that this was an IPA. The hoppiness blends with the rye to create an easy drink of peppery rye and mild pine hops.

With a medium feel in the mouth and low carbonation, I would describe the feel is understated but effective.

This is a very drinkable brew worthy of a try. Session worthy and with its mild hoppiness, it could be a gateway IPA for the non-hopheads.

THanks to a combination of urbancaver and brew3crew. alright

A - clear amber body, medium off white head. pretty.

S - spicy and piney hops. not a lot of balance, but a good smell.

T - grapefruit! The only beer I've ever had that truly really exactly tastes like proper grapefruit. It's delicious. Not overly bitter, a touch dry, and as it warms, it all sort of mellows out in a very even and tasty manner.

M - medium body, medium-thin, very palatable.

D - Great to drink, very tasty, good to drink. Hard to put down.

Pours a orangish with reddish hints. Clear and crisp. A bit of white head, nice lacing. Fairly pretty. Before i even get that close the rye overwhelms. Some nice hops on the nose as well. Cascade perhaps? The taste is almost purely rye. The hops are prominent but the rye hits hard. Good mouthfeel an highly drinkable. Dare i say almost session able?

Bartender said this was just put on tap today at the brewery

A-clear amber color with minimal head
S-Some lemony undertones. Slight hop smell but not much.
T-crisp and hoppy. Pleasantly suprised with the taste of this. Maybe I jusy like rye beers!
M-medium bodied, smooth and crisp
D-very drinkable. Taste was gone in no time!

Not bad, more hops on the nose would improve it.
