On tap at the brewery. Black body. Smells of rye and roasted malt. Tastes of bitter chocolate, spicy rye, toast, and then more rye. Love it. No sweetness. Aggressive rye. Medium heavy. I know this isn’t everyone’s jam, but I think it’s delicious.

Smooth and surprisingly amazing. Rye flavor pops in your face in a good way. The texture is absolutely amazing and deserves at least a 90 rating.

Enjoyed this on tap at Founders annual Black Party in a 12oz snifter.

A - Black, opaque, mocha colored head

S - Low amount of rye, roasty

T - initial: Barley, grains, roast, rye, biscuity. finish: low bitter hops (3/10), but roasty (5/10)

M - Frothy, viscosity is medium

O - Not my type of brew. Prefer sweetness over the earthy/roasty taste. I wasn't tasting rye specifically. Average beer and not for me.
