Pours a cloudy pale gold, nice white head, nose gets pine and citrus as do the taste buddies. Has a thick feel to it. I was skeptical as I've only seen the Mortal Bloom Hazy. This is good.

Mortal Bloom Imperial Thorn has a very thick, off-white head, a mostly-clear, bubbly gold appearance, with some lacing and powdery sediment, throughout. The aroma is of white wheat bread and pine, with subtle fruit. It has a similar flavor, with herbal notes, moderate bitterness, and sweetness. Imperial Thorn has a medium body and a dry finish.

LOOK: Don't know if I have ever seen a high ABV IPA have such a bright, clear pour. Absolutely no haze at all. Slightly off white head with good retention and side glass lace. Looks inviting.
AROMA: Citrus, grapefruit and some peach. Has both a citrus and earthy hop aroma.
TASTE: Moderately tart with citrus and dank pine. This is an excellent Imperial IPA.
Drying and mildly bitter warming finish.

It was delivered in a clear pint glass after being drawn from a tap. A modest just-off-white head rested on top of a lightly bright and almost clear copper-amber liquid. Its aroma isn't pronounced, offering only some perfumy hoppiness. There's more to its taste, as the hops combine with the alcohol to provide a sharp and hard bite. Piney best describes the kind of bitterness it brings. The flavor of the starches is negligible, yet the mouthfeel is exceptionally smooth considering the taste bite. Extraordinary stratified glass lacing attests to that. Of course this would taste better with a little malt layer, but it's a welcomed alternative to many overly starched hazies.

Copenhagen 6/3 2026. 35,5 cl can from A Good Case web-hop. Founder's usual design for the Mortal Bloom brand with a black can with colorful flowers. This time in a dark green version.
Pours unclear amber with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a thin, almost transparent layer of foam just covering the surface f the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense itu a strong sweet and boozy odor of fermented tropical fruits mingling with a more subdued scent of citrus fruit. Mango and passion fruit. Oxidized bruised peach. Alcohol. Lemon and lime.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter with a string sweet and boozy undertone. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry.
Imperial indeed.

Nice head that lasts. Cloudy, not sure how it’s supposed to look. Nice crisp taste but somewhat thin. Slight taste of the abv which for a top tier beer should not happen so guess this isn’t one. Overall a good sale beer.

This Founders IPA has a nice light amber color and medium body. It could use a bit more carbonation to improve the look and aroma and the head is quite sparse with no lacing. I will try again with a warmer body to see if more character shows up. Regardless its a pretty decent IPA and worth a try.
