Poured into a goblet: color is copper, head is off white with fine bubbles, head presents less than one finger thick, head lingers with some spotty lacing and thin ring along glass.

Smell is sweet, light cocoa, limited character from the description - some coffee but no bourbon.

Taste is similar with sweet flavor, some cocoa, light coffee, no bourbon, no booziness; cream soda like flavor.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness.

Overall a sweet ale that hides its strength well but not much coffee or bourbon flavor or aroma.

Dark copper colored with a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering three quarters of the top. The head quickly disappeared except for a third of the rim.The aroma is of coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and bourbon. I’m tasting coffee, vanilla, cocoa, and lactose. The mouth is lightly oily and dense.

12 oz. Bottle
Bottled On: 05.28.25

Poured into a chalice a very nice clean/clear dark gold color, with some very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus tan head, which also leaves a pretty nice medium size creamy island/oil slick, and some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice, malty, hoppy, with some very nice coffee, cocoa nibs, with a very nice touch of vanilla, licorice, bourbon, oaky. The taste is very nice, malty, hoppy, with some very nice coffee, cocoa nibs, very nice vanilla sweetness, licorice, with a very nice bourbon/oak note. Full Body, ABV is hidden very nicely, a pretty complex brew, a very tasty sipper, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very nice brew! Glad to see it around here.

12oz bottle picked up at Big Head's Bottle Shop in Missoula, MT
Poured into an Oddpitch rastal glass

P clear caramel w/ reddish hues; small off-white cap; lots suspended sediment and bubbles
N med nose of green coffee w/ some nuttiness, caramel, and cream; inviting; bolder and sweeter as it warms
T follows the nose; really tasty blend of green coffee, nuttiness, and caramel, w/ a light cream/vanilla that rounds things out; not picking up much barrel, but still a solid profile nonetheless; abv is undetectable
Mf med to med-full bodied w/ soft-med carb; smooth
O I dig a good golden stout and this one does not disappoint; would have again

Acquired a 12 oz bottle from a beer buddy 8-12-25. Bottled on 5-28-25; consumed 2-12-26. Cold stored since acquisition.

Beer poured golden orange and brown with a very nice off-white head.

Nose is a very nice combo of coffee and cream, vanilla and cocoa.

Taste is a large malt base with a lovely coffee and cream combination up front. Getting a combination of cocoa and vanilla in post sip aspirations. Back-end barrel lends a perfect balancing act and leaves no undue sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall, i was fearful this was going to be too sweet, but it actually comes close to drinking like a milk stout. Nicely done.

KBS Iced Latte from Founders Brewing. 4-pack of 12 fl oz bottles from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Picked up 05/02/26, $ 22.00/$ 0.458/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at distributor, stored at 40 F at home. Reviewed 07/02/26, review 3687. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on rear label “BOTTLED ON 05.28.25.” Stored at home at 40 degrees F. Served at 53.9 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 57.7 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Deep Gold (SRM 6), hazy.
Body – Medium Amber (SRM 12), opaque. Under direct light, medium amber with particles in suspension. When rear-lite, same color but the quantity of particles barely allows light to pass.
Head – Average (Maximum 1.2 cm, aggressive center pour) Soft Honey, high density, short retention, dropping to a 0.15 cm crown, constantly being renewed by spotty carbonation, and a rocky partial cap.
Lacing – Poor. Faint, barely visible irregular bubble glyphs.
Aroma – 3.5 – Slightly sweet cocoa, no hops, no coffee, no vanilla. No bourbon barrels. No alcohol (11 % ABV, as marked on the label).
Flavor – 3.5 – It begins slightly sweet with faint caramel. No hops. No bourbon, no coffee, no vanilla. No alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Moderate gastric warming. Ends barely bittersweet with a ghost of oak.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium: Tending toward syrupy: Soft carbonation.
Style: Follows the vague BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Uncredited label art, basically the standard KBS label. Disappointing, like many of the KBS variants.

1/18/26 poured into a pink glass...allowed to warm for 5-10 minutes. Expecting a stout and I was underwhelmed.
A: looks like cider
S: sweet, vanilla, hint of coffee
T: milk sugar sweetness, vanilla upfront. zero bourbon impression. Maybe the delivery truck parked next to a liquor store for a day so thats where the bourbon aging comes from? zero.
M: thin, close to a run of the mill lager
O: I look forward to my stouts in the winter. I just finished shoveling the driveway, came in got warm, was looking forward to this and it didnt deliver. Not bad, just underwhelming.

Pours a very slightly hazy amber color with one half finger of whitish head that dissipates to a ring in the glass, with a trace of lacing, from a twelve ounce can into a barrel pint glass. Aroma of cocoa , fresh roast coffee, vanilla and raisin with complementary flavors.

12oz bottled 5-27-25, opened 1-9-26.
1 finger off white head with decent retention. Some lacing.
Dark golden body with good clarity but quite a bit of sediment floating within.
Vanilla, caramel, coffee in the aroma. No barrel perceptible.
Sweet but roasty vanilla flavored coffee.
Full body and slick mouthfeel. Lengthy sweet finish.
Good.

(review from June 2025) Bottled 5/27/25. Label sez imperial golden. A smooth fooler of an 11%er with nice mouthfeel; well balanced notes of java & vanilla + a hit of oakiness in the finish but like so many KBS variants over the past 4-5-6 years, ZERO evidence of bourbon barrel agjng & that's even after letting it warm up. Nice aroma & lactose/milk sugar sweet enough to kill a diabetic at ten paces but another underwhelming, supposedly bourbon-barrel aged KBS variant.

Wonderful beer....this one, from a subby bottle, is a golden amber color with a honey-gold colored, crystal clear liquid. The head is initially tall, but lasting. The aroma is sweet, malty, and has a toffee and caramel-coffee like scent. Decadent. Wonderful aromas and sweet flavors. Full in body. You can't have more than one of these I think.

KBS Iced Latte has a thin, off-white head and a clear, golden appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of medium-roasted coffee and ale. The flavor is of that, with bitterness, low sweetness, and NO bourbon barrel. KBS Iced Latte has a high-medium body and a mostly-dry finish. Sort of flat. Not great.
