Mortal Bloom Sinister Haze deviously disguises an abundance of juicy orange and peach hop notes, accented with fresh floral aromas. Shocking your taste buds with vivid flavors that are balanced with its silky, smooth finish, this India Pale Ale reveals that not all things sinister are necessarily bad.

I got a couple of cans of this beer from a mixed 12pck that I bought from my local meijer store. It poured a hazy golden with thin white head that is a spotty lace. The scent had mild citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with fresh pineapple and mango presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a rather hazy straw, yellow-orange color with a one finger height head of white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time and big bubbly lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a peach and apricot smell mixed with a strong showing of tangerine and orange. Along with these comes some light notes of bread and a hint of herb.
Taste – The taste begins with a cracker, oat, and bready malt base with some of the tangerine and orange that were in the nose. There is also a light apricot and peach, but these are very subtle, much weaker than one may have anticipated from the smell. Along with the malt and sweet are some nice hop flavors with grapefruit being the strongest, but also showing some light herbal tastes. As the taste advances the sweeter fruit fades a tad, while the hop grows taking the taste to its end.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is moderately creamy with a mild and fine carbonation level.
Overall – A pretty nice hazy IPA. Good balance of hops and fruits in this one, with nothing really overpowering.

Mortal Bloom - Sinister Haze
Founders Brewing Co.
IPA - New England / Hazy
Very soft feel, maybe a bit too soft as it sits flat. Mix of tropical fruits with golden wheat style grains. A certain lack of complexity hits you as, " Am I missing something "!?? Might as well crush it because it doesn't improve over time.

No foam or lacing. Pale corn color. Aroma is very interesting, with stone fruit notes, but the taste is rather muted. It feels somewhat sparkly. This is very drinkable.

This for me may be the easy drinking of all the options in the Mortal Bloom mixed pack. The appearance and nose are economical with tropical; fruit and dank resin setting the scene. Taste is again guava and citrus and pineapple morphing into soaking piney resin with only moderate bitterness. Carbonation is almost spot on. Easy to drink cures a lot of ills.

Hazy to style but not so bitter, it was a very drinkable IPA...
What surprised me most about this was the lack of hop to the nose - it was almost non-existent. The rest of it was very enjoyable. If it weren't for the ABV it would be quite a bit sessionable for it's esasy drinkability...

Purchased as part of the Mortal Bloom mixed 12 pack. I think $18/12 pack at Meijer.
6.5% ABV. 60 IBU's. Canned 2/12/25 although I just bought this 2 weeks ago, and Meijer generally has prompt turnaround so I'm wondering if this mixed 12 pack was an afterthought by founders or just sat in the warehouse of the distributor for a while.
Brewed with Wheat Malt, Oats (curiously omitting malted barley?) per the website. Hopped with HBC 638, Citra.
Pours out to a quite hazy but not turbid medium yellow, forming a modest white head with fair retention and lacing. Carbonation is moderate, ~2.5 carbs or so. Nose of mango, canned mandarin oranges, peach nectar and pineapple. Minimal pine, dank MJ, cat pee or grapefruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth, lightly acidic. Taste is a recap of the aroma, with a moderate grassiness which I don't really care for, and a medium bitterness, finishing somewhat dry with lingering grassy aftertaste.
This is well brewed, solid, no off characters, however it's a bit pedestrian which could be offset by the fact that it's 4 months old. Still, it's easy to drink. Not sure I'd buy it again considering it's competition.
