Notes from 4/22/12; on-tap at the brewpub

A - Pours black with just a thin ring of tan head.

S - Nose is quite malty, but also a pretty good citrus hop presence. A bit of vanilla and oak.

T - Surprisingly good. This is the first BA IPA I've had where I felt the bourbon really complemented the base beer, though this is also the first BA black IPA I've had. The bourbon brings a touch of sweetness that works well here. Nice citrus character, both sweet and bitter, with a semi-dry finish.

M - Medium mouthfeel that finished semi-dry.

O - Nice use of barrel aging. Quite enjoyable
